Recently, the Punjab government is appointing 9500 candidates at Punjab agricultural university in a state level job fair. This is considered to be the chief minister’s first event in mega job fair after the formation of new government. After one year completion of the government, the govt jobs in Punjab is fulfilling the candidate needs by offering jobs to 1.6 lakh aspirants. The salary packages provided in the second job fair was about 3 lakh per annum. Twelve companies offered packages over 10 lakh per annum. Eight companies offered twelve lakh a year and 66 companies came over five lakh per annum. The Punjab government has offers of 16,130 recruitments; in this 83,385 candidates are appointed by the employment department, Punjab skill mission and technical department from April 2017 to till date. It has also announced that the government staff all over the Punjab state should not take any leave for a year without proper leave approval. Otherwise, they will not be allowed to continue their work.
Finance department issued a letter pointing out to mention about the officers absent from duty without sanctioned leave. Because of this public services are mostly affected, many government staffs are staying in aboard without resigning their job but they use to extend their leave on false excuse. The Punjab government has taken an appropriate decision for the growth of the state. If any staff is on leave, some other temporary staff will be hired as an additional employee. Hence, the state will take this as an extra financial burden. The Punjab government job announces that mega job fairs are held in various locations for recruiting over 50,000 aspirants. Therefore, hoping the same move by the government of organizing jobs should continue with campus placements to achieve the political goal. However, the Punjab government should also focus on private sectors to provide alternative jobs.
